The upset in Whangarei's premier reserve grade came from the game between the two Fideliter teams with Precision Planning Fideliter 3 leading and winning their game 48-37 over Global Diamonds Fideliter 2. Fideliter 3's Nane Miru played a solid attacking and defensive game at centre and Viv Clegg and Avala Speedy combined well to finish off smoothly in the shooting circle.
Wahine Toa Combined continued their rise up the ranks with a 43-22 win over Pizza Barn BBC Waipu, a team plagued by injuries.
For Wahine Toa Combined, Cherri Neho and Raina Doar played a tight defensive combination in the circle with Te Aroha Palmer taking control through the mid court concluding with Kiri Williams who shot exceptionally well to finish off.
BBC Waipu's Courtney Blindell and Moengaroa Kailahi had their work cut out on defence in the circle but they persisted. Tivaan Doal Smith at wing attack found attacking space and showed grit.
Wahine Toa 1, however, continued to dominate the Premier Reserve grade with a big 46-26 win over Marist Social. Wahine Toa 1's Jaelyn Walker in defence got some great rebounds and intercepts and Tiletha Everitt fed and defended well at wing defence.
Maria and Kahu Dick did some awesome work in the circle, while Marist Social's Karen Compton and Maria Easterbrook were put to work in the defence circle, with Pip Dickson backing them up nicely at wing defence. Germaine Gibson was particularly effective in the circle with her height.
