Rugby fans will have an
added incentive to attend this
Sunday's Northland ITM Cup
clash against Manawatu, with
some of the future stars of
Northland rugby appearing
in a unique curtainraiser.
The Northland under-18
 final brings together the two
top teams from a close
competition in what promises
to be an
outstanding game,
particularly if the semifinals
were anything to go by.
Whangarei Boys' High
School (WBHS) had to hold
off traditional rivals Kamo
High School in a nail-biting
finish to win 17-15, while the
Kamo Rugby Club team
reached the final by beating
last year's champions, Far
North team, the 90 Milers,
31-22.
WBHS and Kamo will
battle it out for the 2010 title
and the Powell Shield. The
rivalry between them has
been intense  all season and it
promises to be a worthy final.
The game  kicks off at
12.30pm, at Toll Stadium.
An  under-18 trial will be
held at Old Boys for players
not involved in the final. The
Northland  under-18 team and
Vikings  under-18 team will be
selected from the trials and
the curtainraiser game.

Rugby Club at 9am on
