Northland Car Club members will race new turf tomorrow as they take to it in Springfield Rd, a portion of track that was used for the International Rally of Whangarei.
The 1.1km hillclimb event will test drivers on a relatively unfamiliar section of road, something publicity officer Alan Strong sees as a good move.
While he was not sure if good watching spots were available, he said people were welcome to wander along the paddock and see what it was like.
He added it was not too late for drivers, as entries would be accepted tomorrow. He said there would be some interest from Auckland clubs.
In a previous story about the club's hosting of a leg of the Northern Rallysprint Series as a success, the Advocate mixed up some of the results.
