Sandy Bay surfer Paco Divers hacked a big turn on the way to the semifinals of the under-20 men's division at the Billabong Pro held at Whangamata.
Divers finished fourth in his semifinal heat yesterday
, missing out on a finals berth.
Gisborne's Johnny Hicks took out the under-20 title, while fellow Gisborne surfer Maz Quinn dominated the open men's section and Raglan's Jessica Santorik claimed the open women's honours.
The Billabong Pro, which kicked off on Saturday, was the second of five events on the Export Gold Series and offers over $12,800 in prize money.
