CROQUET - New season beckons for croquet players

Jo Zanders, vice-president of the Northland Croquet Association and a member of the Kensington club, is among Northlanders at the Whangarei Croquet Club in Third Avenue yesterday for a Northland Association day.
The day was an opportunity for the various clubs around the region to disseminate information about their tournaments in the coming season and to introduce new members.
Some of the players in action for Northland on Thursday in their representative match against Auckland at Kensington also got some last-minute practice in.
Northland teams are.-
A Grade: Evelyn Christensen (Maungakaramea), Kathleen Laybourn, Lesley Towns, Verna Williscroft (Whangarei).
Intermediate: Jo Zanders, Dorothy Depree (Kensington), Te Cheng, Tangi Kirkman (Whangarei).
Grade C: Kath Rankin, Dennis Pamplin (Kensington), Trish McGowan, Sally Mayor (Whangarei).
