Young Northland cricketer Chamodh Peiris has been dubbed a player to watch after receiving a Future Knights Player of the Month Award.
The 15- year- old Peiris received the nomination after a strong showing for Northland's junior secondary schools team against Counties Manukau and North Harbour, and a top showing at the Junior Secondary School Tournament.
Peiris was nominated after scoring 75 against Counties, 34 against North Harbour, and for notching up 213 runs without being dismissed at the secondary school tournament in November - including two half centuries and a century across two days.
Peiris has already played men's premier cricket in Northland. He plays for both the Whangarei Boys' High School team and the Northland Junior Secondary Schools side.
The Future Knights award has been put together by the Northern Districts Cricket Association in conjunction with GB Sports to celebrate the achievements of young players around the Northern Districts region.
