The Taniwha Shield countdown is on, kicking off next week at the Kaiwaka Sports Complex.
The five-day tournament for Years 7 and 8 rugby teams from all over Northland will take place from July 8-12.
The tournament historically has been where future Taniwhas get to play their first representative rugby.
