Hora Hora welcomed centre Warren Dunn back into their fold for their clash against Marist, and celebrated as he ran in five tries for his club side helping his side to a 48-32 win.
The two sides contested their final round robin game of the club season on Wednesday night at Whangarei's Toll Stadium, as the curtain raiser to Northland's ITM Cup match against Taranaki.
Dunn, who was not needed by Northland and was released to play for his club side, shone for Hora Hora.
After scoring two tries for his side in the first half, he backed it up with three more in the second half, and put his side back in front after trailing 25-19 at the break.
Marist tested Hora Hora who had their second spot in the standings at stake, but Hora Hora held on and cemented their place in the August 6 semifinals where they will host Mid Northern, who are in third.
Mid Western topped the standings, dropping just one game this season, and will play fourth placed Kamo in the semis at Maungakaramea Domain.
The final four berths will not change now, regardless of tomorrow's results when the rest of the Southern Districts premiers will contest the final round.
Mid Western go up against go up against Old Boys at Toll Stadium kicking off at a slightly earlier time of 2pm in the curtain raiser to Northland's ITM Cup championship clash against Otago, starting at 4.35pm.
Kamo host Hikurangi at Kamo, while Otamatea go up against Mid Northern at Kaiwaka and Wellsford have a home game against Western Sharks at Centennial Park.
All games kick off at the usual time of 2.15pm.
