The Northland Kenpo Karate club is basking in a warm gold, silver, and bronze glow after their national-level achievements.
Members returned with a swag of medals from their trip to the annual New Zealand Kenpo Karate Championships, held at the New Zealand Police College gym facility in Wellington.
Sixteen students,aged from 6 to 18 and ranging from white to black belts, travelled for last month's event.
They competed in four tournament categories: kata, self-defence, synchronised forms and sparring.
Two black belt students, Sione Takalua from Dargaville and Whangarei's Casey Tier, competed in their final age-group tournament, and left with several medals.
