Northland's Lillian Christini has retained her place in the North Island indoor bowls team that is to tour the South Island in August and play in the annual inter-island match at Christchurch on August 15.
Seven new caps have been named in the North Island indoor bowls team and several have been recalled, while the South Island team has no new caps but has recalled many very experienced players.
The teams were announced at the 60th Lion Foundation National Indoor Bowls Championships to compete in the 29th annual inter-island match for the Kevin Eddy Memorial Trophy at Christchurch on August 15.
The North Island commences a tour of the South Island on August 7, with eight tour matches.
The first match is at Cromwell against Otago and South Otago. With the New Zealand players not eligible for selection, the North Island selectors have taken the opportunity to introduce seven new caps.
The new caps are; Margurrite Gerrand, Bay of Plenty; Elizabeth Morrow, North Taranaki; Lois Randall, Hutt Valley; Teri Anderson, North Wellington; Matthew Ellis, Roskill and Districts; Rodney Mills and Lance Jenner, Auckland. Lillian Christini, Northland; Paul Smith, Tauranga; Kevin Childs, Auckland and Mike Phipps, Taranaki have been recalled.
