BUGGER this Valentine's Day rubbish, the Super 15 season is kicking off!
Men shouldn't be worrying about buying a bunch of flowers because the calendar says we should, we should be making sure the batteries in the remote are good and the couch is comfy.
Having a box of beer,or warm drink, ready for the 4am kick-off between the Cheetahs and the Lions should be the pressing issue in rugby fans' minds - not which flowers, or how many roses, to get the supposed "better" halves.
If you were a bit of a rugby nut, and night owl, this weekend's kick-off would be great - although in New Zealand we haven't really pumped it up all that much yet.
So, just so you know, there's a double header taking place overnight, at 4.05am and 6.10am - best drop the plans of a romantic weekend for making sure the Sky subscription is all up to date.
Hopefully it's not just me who feels as though the Super 15 season has sneaked up on us.
All my Super 15 attention has been on the Benji Marshall signing process and curiously watching how he goes at pivot. My thoughts are that Benji is a talented bugger who will probably make a good grasp of it, but it'll take time.
When the Blues kick off their campaign, against the Highlanders next Saturday at 7.35pm, I am not expecting to see Benji in the starting line-up.
I'm expecting him to be eased into it, maybe getting 10 minutes off the bench in that game and leaving the bulk of the pivot work down to Counties Manukau's Baden Kerr - who seemed to have come a long way throughout the ITM Cup.
I wouldn't even mind seeing Benji given a spell at second-five, just because he's not a big, bashing runner doesn't mean he can't make a good play at it.
After all, Dan Carter wasn't a hard-running second-five - nor was Aaron Mauger.
Although, having said all of that, when the season kicks off tomorrow I'll be sleeping - preparing for the final day of a training camp.
