Mea Motu will finally get a shot to add to her world title collection with her unified Super Bantamweight World Title bout rescheduled for next month.
Motu (20-0) will face Ellie Scotney (9-0) for the Unified Super Bantamweight World Title on January 25, at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham.
The fight was originally set for October but was postponed after Scotney suffered an injury in the lead-up.
The stakes couldn’t be higher as the fight is for the prestigious IBF and Ring Magazine titles. A victory will make Motu the first New Zealander to claim more than one world championship, cementing her place as a trailblazer in Kiwi boxing.
To stay sharp, Motu took on Australia’s Shannon O’Connell in a last-minute fight in Sydney on October 24 - which she won when O’Connell’s team threw in the towel in the fourth round.
