Bowls: Northland teams for tournament

The second representative fixture will be played at the Onerahi and Whangarei greens on Sunday.

Play starts at 9am, with the women at Onerahi and the men at Whangarei. North Harbour, Far North and Northland will be competing in a triangular tournament.

The Northland teams are:

Open Women: Diane Lawrence, Marny Jones, Manu Timoti, Anne Bateman, Fisha Murray, Sue Wightman, Linda Pedro, Karen Horscroft.

Reserve Women: Diane Strawbridge, Jude Ganley, Ann Halls, Leanne Stewart, Lauren Mills, Maree Attwood, Betty Mitchell, Savanna Lauder, Jane Mitchell.

Open Men: John Dunn, Colin Wintle, Peter Doreen, Gordon Bond, Mike Butler, Eric Pattillo, Joe Thorburn, Steve Smith.

Reserve Men: Carl Van Haaften, Alistair Trimmer, Dusty Reader, Sam Nelson, Steve Mitchell, Kevin Robinson, Simon Reesby, Don Cameron.

Congratulations to Savanna Lauder, who represented Whangarei Girls' High School and the Northern Region in the Secondary Schools New Zealand finals in Hamilton. Savanna was runner up in the girls' singles to the other singles representative from the Northern Region.

Reminders

Entries are now required for the Interclub Sevens to be held January 12-13. Please have entries into the Centre office by January 3. First and second divisions will be played for both men and women.

To those of you attending the New Zealand national tournament being held in Taranaki from December 27, good bowling to you all. Don't forget to get your entries in for the Centre singles before you go!
