Kamo now move to second on the points ladder and, more importantly, signalled they are a team on the rise this season.
In the City versus Onerahi game played at Kensington Park, City batted first and scored 185 for seven off their 50 overs.
Veteran Bert Horner was the mainstay of the City batting with 47 and was well supported by Ian Page with 33.
Will Johnson bowled well with his medium fast swingers to pick up three wickets and Gareth Blithe was impressive with a tight economical spell.
In reply Onerahi were in serious trouble at 93 for seven, but a superb 88 run stand between Adam Sylva (40 not out) and Will Johnson (33) saw them knock off the required runs.
Both players are better recognised as bowlers and are regarded as unorthodox batsmen, but they maintained great discipline and showed real mental strength and concentration to get their team home and record their first win of the season.
The young Maungakaramea side lost early wickets and struggled to get any momentum into their innings against Kaipara Flats.
Only Cody Andrews (31) and Aidan Miller (37) scored significant runs on a green wicket where former Northland Players Matt Taylor and Kevin Forde bowled well.
In reply, Chris McGoldrick batted superbly well in scoring 92 as Kaipara Flats scored the winning runs and secured a bonus point victory.
McGoldrick, from the strong St Albans Club in Christchurch, is a former Canterbury age group player and is regarded as a strong contender to secure one of the openers' spots in the Northland representative squad to be named soon.
With the representative team away next weekend, the second of the one day titles, the Mark Cromie One Day Championship, commences on Saturday.
