Caroline Bon has made the cut for the final round in the Ladies' European Tour qualifying tournament in Spain but will have her work cut out for her if she wants to earn full playing rights for next year's tour.
Bon has fought hard to overturn damage done by a near-disastrous first-round score of eight over that left her in 82nd place in the field on Wednesday night, to move up to a share of 44th place after Saturday night's fourth round.
Making the cut means she is assured a place in the final qualifying round played overnight - but it also guarantees her a place in next year's tour - how much of a place will depend on her overnight score and how the players above her fare.
The top 30 players are awarded full playing rights on the tour but those who finish from 31-50 are only awarded limited playing rights - and may have to qualify for the bigger tournaments on the LET playing schedule.
Bon will have to turn on something special if she wants to gain around four shots on her rivals for the top 30 but she has already shown she is capable of meeting a challenge after recovering from her first-round setback.
After the first round she has moved up the field carding a one-over 74 on the more difficult South Course at the La Manga Golf Club in Cartagena on Thursday, moving her into a tie for 55th place.
That was followed by a 3-over 74 in the third round on the North Course on Friday - which was a competitive score on a difficult day and saw her move into a tie for 42nd.
Bon was all smiles after her fourth and final round - again taming the difficult Southern Course with a two-over 75 moving her back to a tie for 44th and making the all-important cut.
Bon played some of her best golf of the week during Saturday's round. She was on track to shoot her first par round of the tournament shooting three birdies and three bogeys - until she tripped up on the 16th and double bogeyed. But she held her nerve to shoot par on the final two holes and finish on 14-over 302 - showing just how damaging her first round was.
Sweden's Caroline Hedwall is three shots clear at the top of the field with a seven-under 281. American Jaclyn Sweeney is second on 3-under, with Spain's Adriana Zwanck the only other golfer to remain below par on 1-under.
The other Kiwi in the field, Auckland's Wendy Hawkes, has improved over the last two rounds to end in a share of 90th place.
