• James Morris Trophy for Outstanding Sports Performance: SIMONE ACKERMANN
Simone is a dedicated and hard-working athlete who has achieved outstanding results. At national secondary school events, she placed fourth in 1500m, fifth in duathlon and sixth in triathlon. She is the school triathlon, cross-country and swimming champion. Simone won the 2007 Northland secondary school triathlon and cross-country awards.
• Sportswoman of the Year Trophy: ALYX PIVAC
Alyx is a talented sportswoman who competes in a variety of sports and has achieved highly in all. She is Kamo High School senior girls' athletic champion, winning both track and field events. She is the captain of the school 1st XI hockey team, which placed eighth at the NZ Federation Cup tournament, and she competes in equestrian events, placing sixth at the North Island Pony Club showjumping and fourth at the NZ Pony Club champs as a member of the Northland eventing team. Alyx recently won the 2007 Northland Secondary School equestrian showjumping award.
• Sportsman of the Year Trophy: BLAIR WALKER
Blair is an up-and-coming multi-sports person who is Kamo High and Northland secondary school triathlon champion. He also competed in the New Zealand secondary school event for a middle-order placing. He is also Kamo High senior boys' athletic champion who won his events at the Northland secondary school athletic champs, and is a member of KHS boys' 1st XI hockey team.
• Student Coach of the Year: MARK RUDDELL
This year, Mark coached and captained the KHS boys' No.1 soccer team. He took the weekly training sessions, made the substitution calls during the games, and was instrumental in organising the Rosehill exchange game and the team's involvement in tournament week in Auckland. He was recently awarded the Northland Secondary School Football Award.
• Clemow Trophy for Team of the Year: GIRLS 1st XI HOCKEY TEAM (Alyx Pivac, captain)
Once again, the girls' hockey team impressed at national level, placing eighth at the NZ Federation Cup Tournament. The team this year consisted of young players who all, bar one, will be returning next year.
• Engraving Systems Trophy for Fair Play and Sportsmanship: BILLIE RAE PEIHOPA
Billie Rae always displayed fair play and sportsmanship on the court as a valuable member of the senior boys' volleyball team, on the field as a member of the mixed touch team, and on the rugby field as a 1st XV player. He continued to display these qualities while coaching the junior touch team.
