Northland's Madi Doar had a repeat of the first Athletics Auckland Cross Country Grand Prix Meeting as she was pipped at the post for the second time.
Doar, 13, again battled it out with Auckland's Laura Watkinson as Doar finished four seconds back in the under-13 race, with fellow Athletics Whangarei representative Jess Pilmer, also 13, finishing fourth.
Other Northlanders also competing in Saturday's under-13 race were Ella Harold, 13, who finished eighth, Courtney Crum, 12, who produced her first top 10 performance, and Tash Hewson, 11, who finished 10th. The women's under-18 race was dominated by Auckland City's Audrey Gregan, who will be representing New Zealand at the World Youth Championships, as she finished just short of a minute ahead of a strong field of runners who included Northland's Imogen Hull, 15, who finished 16th, and Rachyl Edge, 14, just two places behind her.
The next Grand Prix Meeting will incorporate the Athletics Auckland Team Championships on June 8.
