A 47-year-old Northland woman remains in a stable but critical condition following a serious vehicle crash on the Kamo bypass.
The woman was cut free by firefighters from the extensively damaged vehicle she had been driving yesterday.
The woman was airlifted to Auckland helicopter later in the day to Auckland Hospital.
Initial reports by police are the car travelling towards Whangarei and a northbound truck collided about 8.50am on Tuesday, on Kamo bypass about 100m south of the intersection with great North Rd. All traffic was diverted through Kamo for five hours.
Two school age girls who were passengers in the car were treated and released from Whangarei Hospital yesterday.
