It's not often you get to see a buffalo in Whangarei, but yesterday the White Buffalo - South African boxer Francois Botha - was seen prowling around the city ahead of his big bout next week.
Botha was in Whangarei with son Marcel Botha to do some sparring at the Whangarei Boxing Gym on Robert St and to drum up some interest ahead of the fight night at Auckland's Trusts Arena on June 13.
He also took the opportunity to have a walk along the Town Basin.
Botha, who last year lost a controversial points decision to Sonny Bill Williams after the fight descended into a farce over confusion about how many rounds it was to go, will fight top Kiwi heavyweight "Explosive" Joseph Parker on June 13.
Marcel Botha will fight on the undercard against Jeremy Sebastian.
