Whangārei Girls' High School's cricket team dominated this year's two-day senior secondary school girl's Leaf Cup tournament played on Wednesday and Thursday last week.
WGHS won all three of their games over the two days. In the final they batted first against Kamo High School, scoring 210 for 4 with Mikayla Templeton top-scoring with 69 retired. Kamo failed to chase down the total, making 129 for 5, batsman Jacqui Cameron scoring 40.
WGHS will now represent Northland at the Gillette Venus Cup in Papamoa for three days from March 10 to 12.
