Whangārei Boys' High School won the Northland secondary schools rugby league competition in thrilling fashion against Dargaville High School at Otaika Sports Park on Wednesday.
With the scores level at halftime, 12-all, and again at fulltime, 16-all, the game went to golden point sudden death - a five-minute period where the first team to score would take the title.
WBHS player Charme Henry-Turner provided the winning play, being the first to score and secured the Adam Blair Trophy for WBHS after they lost it to Bream Bay College last year.
Both teams now qualify for the national secondary schools league tournament in Auckland in September where Whangārei Boys' will play in the top division while Dargaville will play in the development division.
