A call has gone out to all masters rugby league players wanting to take part in a regular competition, to turn out at Lindvart Park on Sunday.
Interested players aged over 35, past and present, have been invited to attend a muster being held by the Kaikohe Lions United Rugby League Club on the north side of Lindvart Park, next to the carpark, at 11am on Sunday.
KURLC masters' spokesman Willie Maihi - inspired after watching the masters game between the Hikurangi Stags and Hora Hora Broncos in Hora Hora last weekend - said the aim was to get a regular competition up and running in the heart of Ngapuhi Kaikohekohe.
"Depending on the interest shown, Joe Rau [from the Hikurangi Stags] and I will set a date for the get-go. All interested clubs and players are invited and welcome to be a part of this," said Maihi.
Anyone wishing to register interest can call 405 2428 in the evenings.
