People in Kawakawa and Moerewa are being urged to cast their votes before polling closes in a Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board byelection early next week.
The byelection, in the board's Kawakawa-Moerewa Subdivision, was called when elected member Margaret Wikaire resigned and moved to Auckland late last year for family reasons.
The two candidates contesting the seat are Kathy Marlena Dunn and Kelly Stratford.
Voting forms in the postal ballot must arrive by noon on Tuesday. Anyone voting after today is advised to hand deliver their completed voting documents to the Far North District Council's offices on Gillies St, Kawakawa, or the John Butler Centre in Kerikeri.
Anyone in the Kawakawa-Moerewa area who did not receive voting papers can cast a special vote at either council office or call the Electoral Office on 0800 922 822.
