Police are appealing for information which may assist the investigation into a hit and run on State Highway 12, between Ohaeawai and Kaikohe, at around 11pm on Friday September 22nd. Source: @NorthlandPolice

Police are appealing for sightings of a car that may have been involved in a fatal hit and run in Northland.

Wilma Laura Terore, 67, died last Friday.

Detective Treston Laybourn said police were appealing for help to find the vehicle involved in the crash, on State Highway 12 between Ohaeawai and Kaikohe, about 11pm on Friday September 22.

Police have reviewed CCTV footage that shows a silver or grey Toyota Estima, which may be approximately a 2004 or older model, travelling nearby on SH12 just before Terore was hit.

"Police would like to locate the driver of this vehicle. We have reason to believe the vehicle will still be in the Kaikohe area and could have damage to its front," Laybourn said.
