An imitation firearm was pointed at a gas station attendant in the third incident involving replica guns in two weeks.
Police were called to the Walton St Mobil at 5.20pm on Saturday after a male allegedly presented what looked like a firearm and demanded the male attendant unlock the gas pump.
Northland police spokeswoman Sarah Kennett said the vehicle took off and a subsequent search by officers and the car was found it involved in Vine St. She could not confirm whether any petrol had been taken. Mrs Kennett said a black BB gun and a large kitchen knife were found.
Two men will appear in court tomorrow. A 24-year-old man will face charges of unlawfully carrying an imitation firearm and a 27-year-old male will face charges for possessing a knife in a public place.
This is the third incident involving imitation firearms in two weeks.
