Two of five teens have been charged in relation to a ram raid in Awanui.

Two of five teens have been charged in relation to a ram raid in Awanui.

Police have charged two of five teenagers who were allegedly in a stolen car involved in a service station ram raid.

Police spotted the vehicle and chased it south of Ohaeawai early Tuesday morning.

It was spiked at Maromaku but continued for another seven minutes before coming to a halt on Towai Rd.

Two of the occupants had jumped from the vehicle while it was still moving, but a police dog tracked them and they were arrested.

A police spokesman said the car had been identified as one used in a ram raid at the BP service station at Awanui late on Monday night.

She was also subject to arrest on outstanding warrants.

The others alleged to have been in the vehicle were a 14-year-old from Moerewa, a 16-year-old from Kaitaia and a 17-year-old from Herekino.
