Bream Bay Sliders member and organiser of their annual Mid-Winter Festival of Surfing Roger Hall reckons he's got a simple formula to ensure there's always surf for the event.

Sunday marked the Sliders' 10th anniversary surf festival and Mr Hall said it was unusual that none of the events had to be cancelled or postponed due to poor surf.

He says he always chooses a Sunday where there is a high tide close to noon. As the surf is usually better on an incoming tide, it almost guarantees there's enough surf for the contest to be held.
