Friday the 13th saw a flurry of crimes in and around Kaipara.
The trouble started when a Ford Courier ute was stolen from Jervois Rd between 12.30am and 2am on Friday.
People staying at a bach on Marine Dr at Te Kopuru came home at 11am to find a pot plant had been thrown through a glass door during the two hours they had been out. They were unsure what had been taken, because the family who owned the bach were not there.
A Pahi resident then arrived home after several weeks away, to find the shed at their Emay Cres property had been broken into. Fishing gear and an outboard motor had been taken.
A pig living at Donnellys Crossing was the next victim. The pig's farmer saw a car leaving his Waimatenui East Rd property with a dead pig strapped to the roof racks, at about 8pm on Friday.
