An international award-winning comedy act promising a wild ride for the audience shows in Whangarei tonight.
American comedian Red Bastard (Eric Davis) has sold out shows around the world and received 10 five-star reviews at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival.
After hitting the Wellington and Auckland Comedy festivals, Red Bastard comes to Whangarei, promising a show during which something interesting must happen every 10 seconds.
He immerses the audience in his unique and absurdly interactive show, engaging watchers in raw conversation, provocations, traps, rewards, and catch 22s. He plays and pretends at being a teacher of the theatre of life and "spreads through the audience like a big red virus".
The show is hosted by OneOneSix, Whangarei's creative space being rejuvenated by a group of volunteers from Company of Giants. Company of Giants's Laurel Devenie said Red Bastard would also be hosting a workshop with local creators.
