Serious crash closes State Highway 14 in Kaipara, Northland

Emergency services are responding to a serious crash on State Highway 14 in Kaipara.

The single-vehicle accident happened on the stretch between Maungatapere and Dargaville.

A St John spokesperson said they received a call at 6.21pm and sent one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle.

“We are still on scene and don’t have any more information at this stage.”

Police said the highway will be closed for several hours while they investigate.

“The Serious Crash Unit is conducting a scene examination and diversions are being arranged. Motorists are advised to expect delays,” a spokesperson said.
