A serious crash has closed part of State Highway One, north of Whangarei.
Police said the crash - just outside the Croft Poles Mill and before the rise to Apotu Rd, Kauri - involves multiple vehicles and two people are trapped. The collision happened at about 10am.
Police said the Serious Crash Unit would be attending the collision and fire crews, ambulance and police were currently at the scene.
Diversions have been put in place through Salesyards Rd and Vinegar Hill Rd. Police said to expect delays.
