The median price for the seven dairy farms sold in Northland was $15,678 a hectare, while the median price for the 91 dairy farms sold nationally - median size 106ha - was $39,642 a hectare, compared to $44,322 for the three months ended January 2017 (94 properties) and $36,687 (76 properties) for the three months ended February 2016.
On a price per kilo of milksolids basis, the median sales price nationally was $35.45 kgMS for the three month to February 28, compared to $39.75 kgMS for the three months to January 2017 and $38 kgMS for the three months ended February last year.
The 24 Northland grazing farms sold in the three months to February 28 made an $11,101 median per hectare, up from $9373 in January and from $10,974 in February last year.

The two Northland horticulture properties sold in the three months to February 28 averaged $149,956 a hectare - down from a $170,075 median posted for Northland horticultural sales a year earlier.
The median price per hectare for the 44 horticultural properties - median size 8ha - sold nationally for the three months to February 28 was a $269,034 a hectare, up on $254,448 for 54 properties sold a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the 211 Northland lifestyle properties sold in the three months to February 28 fetched a median $447,000, while the 318 lifestyle blocks sold in the Auckland region had a median price of $1,172,500 and the 1809 sold nationally fetched a record high of $600,000.
The national median prize for lifestyle blocks rose by $57,000 (+10.5 per cent) from February last year to February this year. The median price for lifestyle blocks in Auckland rose by $212,500 (+22.1 per cent), Waikato increased 26.99 per cent to $685,000 and Canterbury rose 11.8 per cent to $685,000.
