There may have been nearly 10 years between wins, but Whangarei Boys' High School's under-15 rugby team have claimed their third Lindisfarne College Rugby Tournament title.
Boys' High marched to the title by winning the final 10-5 over Masterton's Rathkeale College in Hastings.
The win is the school's third inthe invitational tournament's 13-year history after also winning in 2003 and 2005.
During the three-day tournament, Boys' High notched up a total of 117 points, which included 20 tries, while conceding a miserly 20 points.
Boys' High's Judah Andrews was awarded the cup for player of the final.
Coaches and management for the team were Todd Hamilton, Kerry Smith, John Sapwell and Boys' High teacher Amanda Gurr.
As well, many parents and siblings supported the winning team.
Nine boys from the team who travelled to Hastings have been selected by the Northland Rugby Union to represent the province to play against teams from the Bay of Plenty this month.
