No arrests have been made over a scuffle after a game between two junior rugby teams in Northland.
Police have confirmed they are investigating a complaint in relation to an incident. However, they would not confirm the name of any individual who may or may not be the focus of the investigation, or the teams involved.
The Advocate understands a complaint was laid against former All Black Eric Rush following a scuffle during a North Zone IMB under-16 match between Kaeo and Eastern/Waipapakauri on Saturday, June 13.
Mr Rush said at the time he intervened in the scuffle and grabbed an Eastern/Waipapakauri player who was fighting. However, the player's mother, Jenna Waipouri, of Pawarenga, said Rush went too far and she had laid a complaint with police. Mr Rush said he did not wish to comment.
