A third try, this one from Matt Harrison, extended OBM's lead to 21-0 as they looked to have the game sewn up.
However a pair of quick tries from Kerikeri brought them right back into the contest but OBM managed to hold on for the tense victory.
Meanwhile, Kamo completed the first half of the competition with another win, beating Otamatea 45-7.
The win leaves them with 44 out of a possible 45 competition points as they continue to separate themselves from the pack.
Hora Hora, meanwhile, are keeping pace with Kamo - they are just four points behind on the ladder - with a huge 63-24 win over Western Sharks helping their cause.
The Sharks mustered up a lot of fight but the class of Hora Hora proved too much as they secured second spot on the ladder for at least another two weeks.
In other fixtures, Mid Northern recorded back to back wins with a 55-21 win over Wellsford keeping them just inside the top four.
After losing five of their first seven games, Mid Northern have reversed their fortunes as they look for another finals appearance.
Waipu kept pace with Mid Northern with an entertaining 46-34 home win over Hikurangi to remain in fifth place.
