Northland lock Murray Douglas has signed for the Australian Super Rugby franchise Brumbies for next year's competition.
The 29-year-old is the eighth Northland player to sign Super Rugby contracts for next year after standout performances for the Cambridge Blue in the Mitre 10 Cup this season, where the Taniwha reached the Championship semifinals.
The Scottish-born lock/flanker played for the Hurricanes last year and Rebels in 2017 alongside fellow Taniwha Jack Debreczeni.
Douglas is a combative loose forward with a strong presence at set piece play, especially at the breakdown and lineout.
He combined well with Josh Goodhue and Tom Robinson and was never afraid to put the shoulder in while defending for Northland in the Mitre 10 Cup.
