Northland cult figure Rene Ranger will return to Toll Stadium for the 2018 Mitre 10 Cup.
The 31-year-old midfielder has re-signed with the province on the back of a strong 2017 campaign where Northland made the semi-finals of the Championship division.
Ranger has been plying his trade for La Rochelle in the French Top 14 competition and will return as a key experienced head for the Taniwha.
He has amassed 76 appearances in the Cambridge Blue since his debut in 2006.
