Glenbervie School pupils had a lesson about police work when officers caught a man fleeing through the school after he crashed his car nearby.
After arresting the man they charged with dangerous driving and other offences yesterday, police officers visited classrooms to talk to children who had witnessed the front line of crime fighting in action.
Because the incident took place close to and in the school grounds, a large number of police had responded.
The mid-morning pursuit began when members of the public called police about a vehicle being driven dangerously and on the wrong side of the road at Tikipunga.
When police got to the street where the vehicle had been last seen, it pulled out from a driveway in front of them and took off at speed.
