Cancer doesn't sleep, and nor did hundreds of Northlanders who braved some inclement weather to take part in Relay for Life over the weekend.
The annual event - which saw teams walk, run and jog over an 18-hour period at Trigg Sports Arena, in Kensington, Whangārei - is all about celebrating cancer survivors and remembering those who have lost their lives to the disease while also raising money for the Cancer Society.
More than 750 people have registered for the Northland relay and so far more than $82,000 has been raised. The goal is to pass $100,000.
Northern Advocate photographer John Stone went along to the relay to capture these images.
