PHOTOS: Enchanted Garden sees excitement grow in Whangārei

Children young and old have been captivated by the magic going on at an enchanted garden in Whangārei.

Whangārei Quarry Gardens in collaboration with Northland Youth Theatre, Circus Kumarani and Sistema Whangārei, presented "The Enchanted Garden" at the quarry gardens yesterday.

Magical creatures descended on the gardens for one special day, with visitors dressed in theme for the day of school holiday fun. There were spot prizes for the best dressed children, pixies, fairies, pirates and giants.

Fairies Teagan Bourke, 7, Kayla Bourke, 10 and Brooke Sturrock, 10, entertain the holidaymakers.

Sebastian White, 11, Taine Reader, 13, and Horatio White, 10, provide classical entertainment at the Enchanted Garden.

The trolls under the bridge were Jessica Mitchell, 13 and Liliana Durcrot, 9.

Kaeden, 2, gets a lift from dad Vince Luke.

The last Moa of NewZealand made an appearance at the Enchanted Garden yesterday with his rider Kaelym Power and guardians Lisa Lu and Noah Lister of Circus Kumerani.

Angus McLennan was looking great as a Wizard.
