A former Northland social worker has been found not guilty of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl he met through his youth work.
It took the jury in the Whangarei District Court just over two hours today to return their verdicts on Chappy Harrison, 46, on five charges of alleged sexual abuse that happened towards the end of 2015.
He faced three charges of indecently assaulting a female between the ages of 12 and 16, one of unlawful sexual connection and another of doing an indecent act.
The complainant was not referred to Harrison in a work capacity.
