Northland waka ama paddlers' gift to Rarotongan school

Christmas has come early for one Rarotogan school thanks to some help from Northland waka ama paddlers. The hundred students at Nikao Maori School, on the small pacific island, were delighted to hear 37 boxes filled with books, toys and teaching resources were destined for their classrooms. The students welcomed the paddlers as part of the Adopt a School initiative, which has become a part of the massive paddling event Vaka Eiva. Last week as part of the week-long competition the paddlers from Ngati Rehia Kaihoe Waka ama club took a break and delivered some of the boxes. Here is a video clip of the students welcoming the Northland paddlers with a song.
