Council seeks new boss
Northland Regional Council is advertising for a chief executive in line with employment law requirements. Incumbent Malcolm Nicolson's contract was due for review late last year but it is understood the process was put on hold until the new council settled in. The advertisement calls for a collaborative, motivating leader with extraordinary strategic vision, politically astute, and has good knowledge of regional-sector local government. He or she must be inclusive, innovative, able to lead strategically important projects, an excellent communicator and have exceptional relationship management skills to develop strong connections with other territorial authorities, iwi, business and community groups and other stakeholders.
