Winning ticket in Cambridge
A Lotto player from Cambridge won $1 million with Lotto First Division in Saturday's Lotto draw. The winning ticket was sold at New World Cambridge. Powerball was not struck and on Wednesday will be $5 million. Strike Four also rolled over and will be $200,000 on Wednesday. The winning Lotto numbers were 03, 05, 06, 07, 33, and 37 with the bonus number 20 and Powerball number 9. The Strike numbers were 37, 05, 03 and 07.
Tourists spend $97m in region
Tourists spent $97 million in Northland in April, with retail sales and transport earning more than any other sector. Figures from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment show Northland recorded the seventh largest in terms of monthly spend by region behind Auckland, Otago, Canterbury, Waikato, Wellington, and Bay of Plenty. Kiwis spent $73 million, followed by Australians at $7 million and Americans who forked out $4 million.

Week 24 of Wai 1040 Te Paparahi o te Raki Hearing - the Waitangi Tribunal hearing into historic claims by Ngapuhi, will get under way in Whangarei today. The hearing will continue before Judge Craig Coxhead.
