Bennett reels in 110kg marlin
National's deputy leader Paula Bennett has caught a 110kg marlin in a Bay of Islands fishing competition. "Just tagged released a 110kg striped marlin in some of the worst sea conditions," she posted on her Facebook page on Saturday. "Swallowing salt water, throwing up but kept winding! And yes some of us call this fun!"
She was taking part in the Reel Ladies Fishing Tournament in the Bay of Islands. "End to fishing comp at prizegiving last night. Mexican theme, everyone in costume. And we won. Great couple of days," she posted. Yesterday she was back in Parliament, helping leader Simon Bridges announce his shadow Cabinet.
