The $19,750,000-listed property is situated 30-minutes from Russell.
Fancy living Bay of Islands beachfront with your own cocktail bar, world-class golf facility and international-sized floodlit tennis court?
All this and more could be yours for just under $20 million.
This is a "country mile" - in fact nearly thrice the price - ahead of any other Northland residentialproperty sale post-Covid lockdown, according to One Roof editor Owen Vaughan.
"It's certainly at the top end of the Northland property market. Nothing has got even close to $20m – the closest price in the last 12 months was $7m and, post-Covid, $5.65m and the highest settled sale price in Russell in the last six months was $3.3m."
Paradis Trouve is a nine-bedroom, 11 bathroom waterfront estate situated on 10ha with four self-contained luxury villas, a luxury lodge-like clubhouse and an overflow guesthouse centred around the "family social hub" pool area. It also includes a floating pontoon wharf and boatsheds.
The property, at 285 Manawaora Rd, was built over a four-year period with completion in 2010. It was up for tender last year and withdrawn in January but recently relisted with an asking price. The listing is with NZ Sotheby's International Realty's Athena Wang.
Wang said the estate had been owned by the same couple and was built to suit multi-generations.
"It is owned by a lovely couple and was built for their family and grandchildren to use but they don't use it as much so now they want another family to enjoy it. It was built for multi-generations and, for a family looking to escape, it's amazing. It's a great concept."
She said it was built by high-end residential construction company Lindesay Construction who also built the nearby award-winning luxury resort Eagle's Nest, reportedly among the world's most luxurious accommodation.
"Everything here is done on a big scale. Even the spa pool is built for up to 24 people," said Auckland-based Wang.
According to the listing, the resort-like residence is designed by trend-setting architect Simon Carnachan to "capture paradise" – as its French name, Paradis Trouve, translates.
"This incredible bespoke residence is immersed in private, groomed grounds, featuring a world-class golf facility and an international-sized floodlit tennis court.
"Designed to accommodate multiple intergenerational families; this residence has been made for fun and the best of times. There are four self-contained beautifully-crafted luxury homes which surround a fabulous swimming pool and spa featured in the centre of the property. Additionally a superb fully equipped cocktail bar and an entertainer's kitchen with teppanyaki hot plate, ideal to cook the catch of the day, that links directly to the pool area and is the family social hub of this resort."
The estate sale includes a property management team ensuring year-round service and support with gatehouse security.
There had been a steady amount of interest in the property comprising 50 per cent ex-pats and the other half living within New Zealand.
"We've had a lot of interest from overseas but with travel a bit difficult now, we have received a lot of national inquiries," Wang confirmed.
Vaughan said, while ex-pats had been expressing interest in higher-end properties since Covid, the locals had been behind many sales.
"Certainly the idea of shifting back home and getting a holiday spot, especially in the Bay of Islands, is attractive but, when it comes to pricier sales in the last 12 or six months, it has not really been the ex-pats driving those big numbers, it's been more locals.
"There is an ex-pat market out there and there will be interest from overseas buyers in this property definitely – who wouldn't be interested, it's gorgeous, but I suspect that much of the inquiry will come from the local market. That's been our experience from other luxury properties in New Zealand."
He added: "There are quite a few beautiful properties for sale in Northland at the moment but none of them have a fixed sale price and that's what makes this one property unique and the more attractive."
