Nominations are open for the 2013-14 Far North Citizen Awards which recognise ordinary people doing extraordinary things in their communities.
Up to 10 awards have been made each year since the Far North District Council introduced the scheme in 2001 to mark the International Year of the Volunteer.
The awards are made to individuals who have made a considerable contribution to the well-being of the district and its citizens over a significant period of time; have not received any form of payment for their services; and are residents of the Far North. Nominations close on November 7.
• Nomination forms are available at council service centres or at www.fndc.govt.nz.
