The Northern Advocate People's Choice Award will be presented at the Konica Minolta Northland Sports Awards on December 4.
The People's Choice award will honour the 2015 Sports Personality of the Year.
In 2014, the accolade went to Colin Thorne, who at 91, is poised to run his 100th half marathon in Queenstown.
