She is truly a beauty and people often comment on how good she looks - especially for a 66-year-old.
She is a Bedford OB Front End and Chassis - Auckland's first mobile library. Now, in the hands of Whangarei man Todd Barrell, she is up for sale with a starting price of $70,000.
When Mr Barrell met her, it was love at first sight.
"I loved her. I've got another one, it's more of a gypsy-type house and a lot harder to travel in than I ever expected. I came across this one and it's a lot more user-friendly on the roads," he said.
Mr Barrell said in 1949 her body was purpose built by NF Stahan to become Auckland City's first mobile library. She was opened for business on January 24, 1950, by Mayor Sir John Allum and served for 27 years.
