Someone might recognise these small photos found tucked in a box of books collected by the Zonta Clubs of Whangarei and Hatea-Whangarei for their big annual book sale.
Unfortunately by the time the photos were discovered for last July's book sale there was no trace of where the box had come from, but it did contain mainly children's literature with several Enid Blyton books among them. Three of the photo frames hold images of individual women of different generations and the fourth is of a girl.
Are they four generations from one family, or is the bride in her pert little hat and the girl gazing wistfully at the camera the same person? Who was the Edwardian or Victorian woman in the oldest photo? Is the elegant middle-aged woman her daughter or granddaughter?
If anyone is missing these family heritage photos or has some information about who the women and girl might be, Zonta invites you to phone Anne Richards on 459 7161.
This year's Great New Zealand Book Sale is on July 30 and 31.
